Title: Multimedia in the Classroom
This assignment accounts for seventy
percent (70%) of your final grade. This assignment must be carried out in
groups of no more than five (5) students, and must be done in one of your areas
of specialization.
Students are required to create,
post and reflect on multimedia for teaching in an area of specialization. The
assignment should consist of the resource(s) created and a lesson plan for
their use in the instructional process.

Using multimedia in Instruction - Video
Using the resources you’ve been
exposed to in this course, create a multimedia resource which includes video to
aid the instruction of students in a specific subject area. This resource can
be used to:
- develop students’ understanding of concepts,
- to support content already available in students’ texts,
- to expose students to new ways of looking at the concept,
- to assess students understanding of the concept,
- to help students collaborate and share information on a concept
Develop a supporting resource for
teachers which includes:
- A brief description of the resource you have created which explains its usefulness in instruction, and provides ways of using the resource in the instructional process.
- Detailed lesson plan to incorporate the multimedia resource into the instructional process.
- Any checklists, and instruments used in the instructional process.
- Any material that will serve as an evaluation of learning, as well as the instructional process.
- A storyboard outlining the development of the video.
- An individual reflection by each group member on the process of development of the resource (300 words).

- Video editing tools – Camtasia, Movie Maker etc.
- Audio Editing tools – Audacity
- Quiz Generators – Quiz Writer 4, Multiple Choice Quiz Maker
- Blogs
Packaging:
Students are required to host ALL resources on a blog created by each group. On this blog each group member will be required to reflect on the process of development of the multimedia resource and all supporting materials.
Students will be graded on the blog.
